A Note About Localized Photons on the Brane

چکیده
The Maxwell action on the brane is obtained through a RandallSundrum dimentional reduction. Also, the self dual and the topologically massive actions for vectors in three dimensions can be obtained from Randall-Sundrum dimentional reduction. In the Randall-Sundrum mechanism[1], gravitons and scalar fields in D = d + 1 dimensions described by the Einstein-Hilbert and Klein-Gordon actions respectively, lead to gravitons and scalar fields localized on a ddimensional brane. But, the usual (second order) Maxwell action can not yield photons trapped on the brane[2]. A solution of this dilemma was achieved in ref.[3] where the photons localized on the brane in four dimensions come from two antisymmetric tensors in five dimensions, satisfying a self-dual action[4]. Specifically, Lu and Pope[3] found that the bosonic sector of ungauged N = 2, D = 4 supergravity can be obtained from N = 4, D = 5 gauged supergravity. The supersymmetric extension was considered by Duff, et al.[5] . The generalization for higher antisymmetric fields (p-forms) gives some negative results. Indeed, if we consider the Randall-Sundrum ansatz for the metric ds = egmn(x)dx dx + dz, (1) where m,n = 0, 1, ..., d, together with the natural anzatz for a p-form AM1...Mp(x,z) = AM1...Mp(x), (2)

The massive Elko spinor field in the de Sitter braneworld model
The Elko spinor field is a spin 1/2 fermionic quantum field with a mass dimension introduced as a candidate of dark matter. In this work, we study the localization of Elko fields on a de Sitter thick brane constructed by a canonical or phantom scalar field. By presenting the mass-independent potentials of Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes in the corresponding Schrödinger equations, it is shown that the E...
متن کاملA note on blow-up in parabolic equations with local and localized sources
This note deals with the systems of parabolic equations with local and localized sources involving $n$ components. We obtained the exponent regions, where $kin {1,2,cdots,n}$ components may blow up simultaneously while the other $(n-k)$ ones still remain bounded under suitable initial data. It is proved that different initial data can lead to different blow-up phenomena even in the same ...

متن کاملLocalized U ( 1 ) Gauge Fields , Millicharged Particles , and Holography
We consider U(1) gauge fields in a slice of AdS5 with bulk and boundary mass parameters. The zero mode of a bulk U(1) gauge field can be localized either on the UV or IR brane. This leads to a simple model of millicharged particles in which fermions can have arbitrarily small electric charge. In the electroweak sector we also discuss phenomenological implications of a localized U(1)Y gauge boso...
متن کاملSpherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory
In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...
